REJECTING JESUS

In many countries people are comfortable in disagreeing with politicians, ministers, school teachers, etc. If we quote Jesus or share from Jesus and neglect to indicate the words are from Jesus and people disagree with what is shared, Jesus says "HE WHO REJECTS ME, AND DOES NOT RECEIVE MY WORDS…THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WILL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY". For example if someone teaches we should "love your enemies", people may disagree without knowing they are rejecting what Jesus taught but if someone shares Jesus said, "LOVE YOUR ENEMIES" and people disagree they will know they are rejecting Jesus' words. When people reject Jesus and His words, Jesus says the person who, "REJECTS THE SON WILL NOT SEE LIFE". We would not want to be responsible for a person not having eternal life. However if a person knows they have heard words Jesus' spoke and still disagree "THEY HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR THEIR SIN". 1

REJECTING JESUS BY TEACHINGS

We Christians reject Jesus with our beliefs, church teachings, manmade doctrines, etc. Jesus' followers, the apostles, were the first followers to make up doctrines. They made up and enforced a rule that you had to be a Jew to follow Jesus until God intervened by using Peter to correct the manmade doctrine. For about 10 years, early Christians considered it a fact that you could not follow Jesus unless you were a Jew. For many hundreds of years, we have continued to make up doctrines that many consider as facts or truths. There is even a doctrine that suggests if people have believed something long enough, it must be true. Jesus is the "TRUTH" not some manmade doctrine. Jesus is very clear "IF YOU CONTINUE TO OBEY MY TEACHING … YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH. AND THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE". To be free of manmade doctrines we need to only follow what Jesus teaches. It may sound simple but doctrines that are considered fact may be hard to question. People may try to validate their beliefs by twisting Jesus teachings to apply to their doctrines or desires. For example unmarried couples may quote Jesus command to "LOVE ONE ANOTHER" to justify their lustful desires while ignoring that Jesus teaches against the sin of "FORNICATION". Be aware there are religious demons and spiritual warfare may be helpful. Please consider asking God in your daily prayers for help to "KNOW THE TRUTH" and be set "FREE" of manmade doctrines. 2

REJECTING JESUS BY JUDGING

We Christians reject Jesus with our judging. Jesus commands "DO NOT JUDGE OTHERS, AND GOD WILL NOT JUDGE YOU" and yet we Christians are so judgmental that comedians can make fun of judgmental church people and are sure to get a laugh. One time Jesus was faced with religious people who were feeling judgmental towards a person who was apparently very guilty. Jesus discouraged their desire to judge by saying, "WHICHEVER ONE OF YOU HAS COMMITTED NO SIN MAY THROW THE FIRST STONE …". Even if we were without sin, we would violate Jesus' command to "DENY" ourselves if we decide to judge someone else, instead of following Jesus' instruction to "FORGIVE" them. We Christians are frequently unable to recognize manmade doctrines we believe as fact in our own religious beliefs but are quick to identify manmade doctrines in other Christian religions and judge them negatively. Jesus clearly informs us, "HE WHO IS NOT AGAINST US IS WITH US" yet people judge other Christians who are for Jesus. During political times people may judge Christian politicians by claiming they are not Christians based on their religion's manmade doctrines, while ignoring the baggage of their own manmade doctrines. It is better leave the judging to Jesus who informs us that God has given Him the authority to "JUDGE" (not us). Jesus definitely gives us an example of not judging others. To help, it is good to remember Jesus' example of saying what God told Him to "SAY" and doing what God told Him to "DO". We need to seek God's guidance all the time. 3
